Why join Ultra?
There is something inside of all of us, longing to know that we belong and have something of value to offer others. We desire to be fully known and fully loved. But life is messy - there is pain and unanswered questions. Sometimes your relationship with God is dry and it feels like you’re just going through the motions. You start to wonder, does my life have purpose? Where is God in the middle of it all? Is this all there is to life? There’s more and you want it.
Ultra is a six-month journey of discovering this “more.” Through studies, mentoring, and hands-on experience, you and your team will learn to venture beyond the norm in life and relationships.

You Can Expect
On Ultra, you will journey through your own heart while being a part of advancing God's kingdom in South America / Asia. You, along with your team, will travel to various countries and experience new cultures as you serve and encourage long-term missionaries, and live intentionally as a witness for Him wherever you go.
Applying for Ultra
Our online application process will walk you through all the necessary steps for getting to South America / Asia. Make an account, choose your team, and complete the rest of the application. Please contact us if you have any questions throughout the process.
Team Size
Each Ultra team has six available spots, but actual team sizes can vary by term. We accept and process applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. You’ll be introduced to the rest of your Ultra team via e-mail a few weeks before you depart for South America / Asia.
Team Leaders
You can experience life change with your team leaders as they mentor and push you to reach your God-given potential. You will be given a safe place within your team to wrestle with deep questions and enlarge your perspective of God, yourself, and the world.
We as team leaders, live in Bogotá, Colombia. While we will not always travel with you, we will make travel arrangements for your team and connect you with long term workers and believers here in South America / Asia.
Orientation & Debriefing
Immediately after you arrive in country, you will spend some time in orientation to gain an understanding of GTO's work. During this time there will be some missions training, team development activities, and time to get acquainted with your team.
At the end of your term, you will spend 3 days in debriefing to help you process your experience and prepare for integration back into North America. We require that you return home directly after your time of debriefing is completed.
Odyssey
After orientation in country, you will go on a trip with your team leaders called Odyssey. On this trip, we do the best we can to prepare you for your time on Ultra. This includes extended time with God, learning how to work with a team, and working through your own story.

Trip Cost
The total cost of your time on Ultra will vary depending on the countries you visit, and the amount you choose to spend on living costs. Expenses have ranged from $9,000-12,000. After paying the registration fees and your flight via the registration system, you'll pay our in-country office for trips and expenses as you incur them.
